I put this together about a week after the finale - once I stopped flinging myself against walls long enough to actually sit down and think about music, of course. Putting it on loop for most of the hiatus totally helped with the crushing disappointment!!! Except not. I don’t think there’s a cure for the bad taste the final shot of The Man Who Knew Too Much left in my mouth, but the fact that it was terrible and depressing and terrible is not what we’re talking about here. (But it was. Oh god, it was.)

This mix basically spans most of season 6 up to the finale, with the last few tracks (from Gravity Rides Everything to Love Lost) being more where I’m hoping they’d take Dean and Cas as the seventh season progresses (that direction being beautiful angst that comes with falling, obviously) and where I want them to end up, rather than where we found them at the end of season 6. I mean, soon as the spoilers and fan theories started filling the gap between the seasons, that hope all but punched me in the face and left me a drooling mess on the floor, but I can’t help wanting a better ending (OR NO ENDING AT ALL, TBH. what do I have to do to make you understand that I want him to stay forever) for Cas and Dean/Cas than what we’d realistically get. So this is that.

CASTIEL: I know what I’m doing, Dean.
DEAN: I’m saying don’t… just ‘cause. I’m asking you not to. That’s it.
